Colliers' worldwide goal was to raise USD 1,000,000 to build 50 homes in Kirinda Village, and master plan the Muslim section of Kirinda so that the inhabitants could live exactly on the same location that they had before which is within close proximity of their mosque, this section of Kirinda, with the exception of one building was completely destroyed by the tsunami. By February 2007 a total of USD 620,000 had been collected, between the period of mid 2007 and early 2011 an additional sum of USD 378,276 has been collected and used towards improvement of the livelihood of the Muslim community within Kirinda.

In May 2005, the Colliers USA Foundation was established to provide financial and other support to both domestic and international disaster relief efforts, including general assistance, recovery and redevelopment activities. The Foundation donated USD
